Martin Loan Fund Launches to Empower Local Entrepreneurs

In October 2025, the Business Development Board of Martin County (BDBMC) and Inclusifi are launching the Martin Loan Fund, a new resource to help smaller, newer businesses in Martin County access much-needed capital. This partnership connects local entrepreneurs with a mission-driven lender in order to fill a critical funding gap – many startups and young companies struggle to get traditional bank loans. “By partnering with Inclusifi, we are giving Martin County’s entrepreneurs a new way to turn their ideas into reality, expand their companies, and make lasting contributions to our community,” said William Corbin, Executive Director of BDBMC.

How the Program Works

Inclusifi is a community-based lender dedicated to small businesses. Through the Martin Loan Fund, Martin County entrepreneurs can secure affordable loans on flexible terms, even if they are just starting out. The fund offers three tiers of loans tailored to different business stages:

  • Launch Fund: $5,000 – $25,000 loans for start-ups and newly established businesses (less than 18 months in operation). This provides seed capital for entrepreneurs to launch and build early traction.
  • Growth Fund: $25,000 – $50,000 loans for established or growing small businesses with at least 18 months of revenue history. These funds help expanding companies purchase equipment, hire staff, or increase inventory.
  • Impact Fund: $50,000 – $100,000+ loans for more established businesses operating 3+ years. Larger financing needs can be met as well – loan requests above $100K are considered case-by-case (up to a $250K maximum) for high-impact growth projects.

All three loan types come with favorable interest rates and terms designed to support small business success. Current rates start as low as 4.5% and are capped at 10%, well below typical bank loan rates. Repayment periods range from 1 to 7 years depending on the loan, providing manageable monthly payments. There are no prepayment penalties, so businesses can pay off early as they grow.

Importantly, the Martin Loan Fund is focused on inclusive lending. That means entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, including minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to apply. By leveraging Inclusifi’s community lending model, the program makes financing accessible to those who may not fit strict bank criteria (for example, companies with limited collateral or founders without generational wealth). Inclusifi’s team offers guidance and training alongside the loans, so borrowers get more than just funding; they gain a partner invested in their success.
