Hinckley Yacht Services, a legacy standard bearer in the marine industry worldwide, cut the ribbon on a sizeable expansion to its Stuart facility, the BDB proudly took part in the celebration.
Executive Director William Corbin spoke at the event, joining, among others, Peter Clark, chief development officer of The Hinckley Company, and Ed Ciampi, Vice Chair of the Martin County Commission.
“Our maritime economy supports more than 5,000 jobs and features a strong cluster of boat-building and related businesses,” said Corbin. “To have an historic company like Hinckley Yachts—located in Manatee Pocket, the heart of our working waterfront—continue to expand and make significant investments in our community is indeed something special.
“To the Management and Executive Staff—and particularly and especially the line-level employees directly involved in the day-to-day,” Corbin added, “we appreciate and value you very much.”
For 97 years, Hinckley has remained a pillar of the marine industry for its meticulous craftsmanship in yacht building and high levels of service. Its expansion in Stuart encompasses an updated service facility and a 43,000-square-foot building constructed to protect up to 60 vessels in a climate-controlled environment engineered to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
Hinckley’s expansion in Martin County is the latest in a series of planned investments, said Clark.
“This project represents the first step in a multi-phase investment to transform our Stuart location into a best-in-class service destination,” he said. “With this strategic expansion, we’re unlocking the full potential of this critical facility to better serve the growing needs of our customers.”
At the expanded service facility, Hinckley technicians will address:
- Mechanical and electrical systems
- Painting, varnishing and refinishing
- Fiberglass and cosmetic restoration
- Electronics
- Full yacht refits
