Our partners at the Village of Indiantown made headlines recently when a high-profile surprise visitor showed up bearing gifts.
At the grand opening for Terra Lago, Gov. Ron DeSantis arrived to celebrate the community and its offering of competitively priced new home inventory. He also presented the Village with $22.5 million to help fund its reverse osmosis water treatment project.
“This critical investment marks a major milestone in our efforts to ensure safe, clean, and reliable drinking water for our residents,” the Village released in a statement expressing their “deepest gratitude” to the governor. “The reverse osmosis system will not only improve water quality but will also strengthen our infrastructure, promote sustainability, and support future growth in our region.
“Your commitment to protecting Florida’s water resources and investing in essential public health infrastructure is truly appreciated, Gov. DeSantis. This funding will have a lasting impact, and we are grateful for your support and vision in prioritizing such transformative projects.”
The Village also thanked local leaders such as the Martin County Delegation composed of Sen. Gayle Harrell, Rep. Toby Overdorf, Rep. John Synder; Village Council members Mayor Carmine DiPaolo, Vice Mayor Angelina Perez, and Councilwomen Vernestine Williams-Palmer, Phyllis Waters Brown and Karen Onsager, and staff; as well as community leaders Kevin Powers of Indiantown Realty Corporation and John Kellam of The Garcia Companies, creator of Terra Lago, for their longstanding advocacy for the Village and its needs.
The Village will soon break ground on its wastewater treatment facility, an essential aspect of its infrastructure upgrades and its commitment to improving the reliability and quality of its water services for existing and future residents.
