H2Ocean Completes Landmark Environmental Mural in Stuart
A Martin County company is using art, science, and environmental awareness to highlight the importance of protecting Florida’s ecosystems.
H2Ocean, in partnership with Project Blue Green, in completing a monumental 36,000 square foot environmental mural on the rear façade of its headquarters in Stuart. Visible from the Florida Turnpike and seen by thousands of travelers each day, the mural is one of the largest environmental murals in Florida and serves as a public message promoting ecosystem awareness and environmental responsibility.
The mural is part of the broader Ecosystems Through Art initiative, which promotes public understanding of how land and marine ecosystems are interconnected. The artwork visually tells that story by depicting marine life on one half and terrestrial wildlife on the other, symbolizing the delicate balance between ocean and land environments and the role healthy ecosystems play in sustaining communities, wildlife, and Florida’s economy.
The initiative is led by Eddie Kolos, CEO and inventor at H2Ocean and founder of Project Blue Green. Kolos established the initiative more than 25 years ago with the goal of advancing environmental stewardship through science, responsible innovation, and safer product development. In recognition of his leadership and entrepreneurial success, Kolos was named the Business Development Board of Martin County’s 2023 Entrepreneur of the Year.
H2Ocean is planning a future event to formally unveil the mural and share the environmental message behind the project with the community. Details will be announced at a later date, and residents and partners are encouraged to keep an eye out for that announcement.
The initiative also includes a proposal to establish National Ecosystems Awareness Day, aimed at encouraging greater public awareness of the importance of protecting oceans, wildlife habitats, and natural ecosystems.
The nearly completed mural will stand as a lasting environmental landmark in Martin County, reflecting how innovation, business, and environmental stewardship can work together to inspire a healthier relationship between people and the ecosystems that sustain life on Earth.
