When Chris Vega says it’s just as important to get involved in a cause as it is to support it financially, he comes by that ethos honestly. As a graduate of Rutgers University, he continues to live his life in the spirit of their mission – perform public service in support of the needs of residents and local communities.

Vega, Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager for PNC Bank and a new BDB Investor, believes in economic development because it provides opportunities for everyone in the community to thrive. “To me, economic development means bringing in companies with high-paying jobs that will contribute to the financial health of our community,” says Vega. “Furthermore, those jobs allow people to live, work, play and stay here in Martin County.”

“Martin County is a great place to do business not just because of its friendly and familiar-to-everyone, small-town feel, but also because it’s centrally located. It’s only a short drive to larger city centers like West Palm, Miami, or Orlando. It’s the best of both worlds.”

In banking since his first job as a bank teller at the age of 16, Vega moved to Florida in 2018 and never looked back. With PNC for 8 years, Vega has worked hard and climbed the ranks; PNC feels like home to Vega because of their steadfast commitment to making the communities they serve the best they can be.

When he finds personal time, he serves on the board of Family Promise of Martin County, a non-profit dedicated to keeping families out of shelters. And loves to spend time with his family by the pool along with his two pups Kody and Stanley.

PNC joined the BDB as a Corporate Council Investor earlier in 2023 and supports the efforts of developing a vital and sustainable economy in Martin County along with other Corporate Council Investors such as Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, C&W Technologies, Florida Power & Light, IRSC, Leslie Ventures LLC, Martin County Realtors of the Treasure Coast, Seacoast and TD Banks.
