Investor Profile: Jeremy Harris, CEO of GrowthSquad

BDB Investor Jeremy Harris, CEO of Growth Squad, a digital marketing company based in Martin County, proudly touts that the company motto is “A Healthier Way to Market.” And no, that doesn’t mean they enjoy granola bars while adapting marketing campaigns to ever-changing algorithms or explaining what omnichannel means to their clients, but instead, they strive to create a frictionless experience for them while producing meaningful results.

“Many clients, when they come to us, express that marketing feels intimidating, complicated, and even tricky, that often their money mysteriously disappears into a dark hole,” says Harris. “My business partner, John Paquette, and I ascribe to the practice that great work and long-term business relationships come from transparency and accountability. What we do isn’t rocket science, but the multitude of options and variables are often complex and can overwhelm business owners. We do our best to ensure the customer understands the process while empowering them.”

It’s not a coincidence that his philosophy about economic development draws parallels to his business ethos. He feels that economic development means creating a sustainable community satisfying all its critical needs through informed and responsible growth, “while giving voice to all its shareholders,” he emphasizes. “The BDB is an important economic partner for private businesses that want to get involved with making a difference and creating sustainable opportunities for Martin County as a whole.”

Harris’s path to the BDB could be considered a little circuitous, but each step along his journey brought diverse insights and experience to his involvement in economic development. Starting with a degree in landscape architecture and designing master-planned communities, then to earning his master’s in business, and finally realizing that marketing is where his passion lies; Jeremy brings creativity and a deep desire to make our community the best version of itself for future generations.

“Martin County has always struck me as this small-town oasis between major markets to the North and South. What also makes it so special is the unparalleled brain trust that resides here; it’s an exciting time to do business in Martin County, and I’m thankful to play a part in what comes next.”

Earlier this month, Harris volunteered for the 2023 Martin County Business Awards presented by Bank of America. As a Host Committee member, he ensured each winner had a VIP experience. Here, Harris is shown with Newcomer of the Year award winners Daniel Collins and Blake Madgett, owner of Containing Luxury. Learn more about the awards.
