It’s widely understood that with a good mindset, almost anything is possible. But having the right mindset is a leader’s mindset which not only can transform their lives, but the lives of those that they lead and serve. Trisha Hawthorne, Vice President, and Commercial Relationship Manager with TD Bank and Corporate Council Level Investor of the Business Development Board of Martin County, has the right mindset.
Hawthorne has been in banking for more than 25 years, while most of her career has been in retail, she made the lead to commercial banking when she became a Small Business Champion for the Treasure Coast Region. There she found her true passion, helping business owners reach their goals and achieve success.
“I love banking, and I have loved every step of my career, from starting as a teller, to being a branch manager,” says Hawthorne, “but what I am doing today, here in Martin County and with the BDB and learning about local businesses through their Pulse program fills my bucket. The culture and purpose at TD Bank are perfectly aligned with who I am as an individual and leader- it doesn’t get better than that!”
Hawthorne serves as the chairperson for the BDB’s Corporate Council and recently was the recipient of the 2023 Vanguard Leadership Award at the BDB’s Leaders’ Summit for her continued efforts in the economic sustainability of her local business community. Taken by surprise upon receiving the award she said, “I feel so blessed to be doing what I am doing in Martin County, it’s the perfect trifecta for any business– great quality of life, amazing people and lots of opportunity.”
A native of Florida, Hawthorne’s roots are deep in the community, and she actively supports many professional organizations in addition to the BDB while simultaneously finding the time to advance her leadership skills by taking part in the prestigious and invite-only Take the L.E.A.D (Leadership, Engagement, Achievement and Development) program by TD Bank. When thinking of her favorite economic superhero she was hard pressed to come up with one, but the team at the BDB could think of one, Wonder Woman.
