The BDB kicked 2025 off in style at APEX Waterjetting Global, when they hosted the Business Development Board of Martin County, its investors, and partners for their quarterly Corporate Council meeting. The meeting started with networking, coffee, and handmade treats from Sorelle Coffee Co. in Palm City. The energy in the room was electric as professionals from various industries and business leaders came together to connect and share insights.
The program started with Dave Friday, President of APEX Waterjetting Global, delivering an engaging presentation about the company’s journey and accomplishments over the past six years, including an expansion in 2024. Friday highlighted the ambitious goal set in motion when he took ownership of APEX: to achieve a 10X growth in revenue within a decade. This vision has driven APEX forward, and the APEX team was excited to share that the company has grown its revenue every year and remains firmly on track to meet that goal.
A significant part of this success stems from APEX’s incredible customers, who trust the company to meet their unique needs and enable them to excel in their respective industries. APEX serves diverse clients who use ultra-high-pressure water blasting technology in fascinating ways. Examples include:
- Automotive Manufacturing: Using APEX pumps to deburr transmission castings, ensuring precision and quality in production and tooling to clean overspray in paint booths.
- Offshore Oil and Gas: Employing APEX water blasting guns to prepare surfaces on rigs and tanks, removing corrosion to enable effective surface prep before painting.
- Shipyards: Utilizing APEX pumps, tools, and parts to strip old paint from ships, preparing them for a fresh coat and extended service life.
- Pavement Marking Removal: Applying APEX systems for surface preparation and cleaning, as well as removing pavement markings.
- Runway Rubber Removal: Clearing rubber buildup from aircraft landings to restore friction and maintain safe runway conditions.
During the presentation, guests were invited to take a closer look at the components that APEX manufactures, including the nozzles that are key to the performance of its tools. A popular product on display was the new StripeBot. The StripeBot is an automated pavement marking removal tool designed to increase safety and precision. Increasing the operator’s distance from live traffic significantly reduces operator risk.
“It’s always an incredible opportunity to host our business meetings at a local business, often on the shop floor,” says Trisha Hawthorne, BDB Corporate Council Chairperson and Vice President of Commercial Relationship Management for TD Bank. “To visit these businesses, which for the most part are invisible to the general public because nearly 100% of their goods or services are exported out of Martin County, is incredibly exciting to share with our colleagues and other business leaders.”
The BDBMC would like to thank Friday and the entire team at APEX Waterjetting for hosting the first Corporate Council meeting of 2025 and sharing all their achievements, and motivations for success.
