Investor profile: C&W Technologies
Experts in managed IT services, AI integration, cybersecurity and more, C&W Technologies supports the mission and efforts of the Business Development Board of Martin County in multiple fashions.
The company is a member of our Investors Council and its CEO and founder, Eric Kiehn, has served on the BDB board of directors for eight years as a representative of the Economic Council of Martin County.
“The business community can truly make a difference to the residents of Martin County,” says Eric. “It’s truly the lifeblood, keeping our economy strong and making a real difference in maintaining and upholding the quality of life that we all aspire to have.”
An admitted “all-around technology geek,” Eric specializes in computer programming, computer services and operations management. He remains active and involved in the local business community and is the incoming chair of the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.
C&W Technologies recently celebrated 41 years in business, a major milestone Eric credits achieving to his companywide emphasis on an uncompromising commitment to customer service.
“Taking care of our clients and customers, listening to them and providing them the services and products that the need—those are the secrets to our longevity,” he said. “We strive to ensure the products and services we offer are provided in an affordable manner so all of them can grow and prosper.”
The company employs 17 people and serves Martin, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties as well as clients in Central Florida, on the west coast of the state, along the Panhandle, and in Texas and South Carolina.
Its services help small- and mid-sized businesses—primarily in the medical, legal, construction, manufacturing, CPA and professional services fields—with cloud solutions, disaster recovery, network and infrastructure support and VOIP services.
In addition to grasping the significance of cloud capabilities well ahead of others in the space, C&W Technologies is an early adopter of AI potential, grasping its potential as far back as 2023.
C&W Technologies aims to strengthen security, assist staff, minimize downtime and support its clients’ ability to operate without interruption.
“Our main focus is preventing downtime at all,” says Eric. “Productivity is key. It’s a competitive world. Our approach is to remain proactive rather than reactive. Sure, unexpected things are always going to happen. Our goal is to make sure you don’t have to call us with a problem; we want you working.”
Similarly, Eric appreciates how the BDB provides free resources to ensure local small businesses are able to achieve their expansion goals and “keep working” at what they do best.
“Once you understand the BDB’s value proposition, you want to be involved with it,” he says. “Even a small business like mine wants to invest in it. It helps existing businesses here be able to get connected with the resources to grow and thrive, as well as attract the right types of businesses to Martin County that will help the community as a whole thrive.”
