While the legacy industries that undergird Martin County’s economy stretch back multiple decades, one particularly connects them all—real estate. The association of leading professionals for that industry—Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast (—will soon celebrate its 99th year in operation.
Although it has functioned under different names over the years, MCRTC is one of the oldest professional associations in the county and a charter member of the Business Development Board of Martin County.
Investing in the BDB via capital contributions and through the talent and service of its board appointees, MCRTC is comprised of more than 800 members. The organization offers multiple training courses and individualized attention aimed at helping members conduct business successfully and ethically.
Dedicated to safeguarding property rights, Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast also advocates for public policies that protect homeowners’ rights, fiscal concerns, and invaluable natural resources such as the St. Lucie River, Indian River Lagoon, and county beaches and shores. The organization also promotes the broad-based individual and community benefits of homeownership, having raised tens of thousands of dollars to support Habitat for Humanity of Martin County.
Established as the Stuart Board of Real Estate in 1926—one year after Martin County was created—the organization recognized the advantages of aligning with the resources offered by the National Association of REALTORS®. Sixty years after its founding, it was renamed the Greater Martin County Board of REALTORS® and then the REALTOR® Association of Martin County in 1996.
While its name has changed over the years, MCRTC’s commitment to professionalism and Martin County remains the same. The BDB appreciates their partnership and commitment to our community, building a solid and resilient economy for everyone.
