The Community Foundation Martin-St. Lucie has announced a new initiative in conjunction with supporting organizations to provide financial assistance to residents interested in upskilling in their current jobs or entering a new career. Organizations involved in the initiative, in addition to The Community Foundation Martin-St. Lucie includes Chapman School of Seamanship, House of Hope, IRSC Foundation, Sailfish Point Foundation, Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce, and the Treasure Coast Builders Association Charitable Fund.
The Career and Technical Financial Assistance program offers the opportunity to apply for underwriting for tuition, and in some cases support resources for those who experience barriers to upskilling/continuing education, such as childcare or transportation related expenses. “Financial assistance for career or technical education is available to all ages for those who qualify, whether you’re already employed or just starting out,” said Ellie Gundrania, Manager of Programs for The Community Foundation.
